So, somehow I missed hearing ANYTHING about this until about 1am and I only heard about it thanks to Twitter.  I guess this is what happens when you’re out of the house from 6:45pm until 3am (what the eff, this is the first time I’ve been out that late in a couple of minutes!).  What makes this even more astounding is that I was on 50th and 8th at New World Stages seeing The Temperamentals at 8pm.  The trains were horribly backed up and it took me half an hour to get from 96th Street to 59th Street.  Was this the reason?  I’m still not sure.  I suppose it’s better that I didn’t know otherwise I would’ve been one of the gawkers pictures above looking on as everything happened and therefore closest incase anything went wrong.

On the theatre front, a few Broadway shows started late, but none were canceled.  And the shows will go on today with no delays (hopefully).

I guess this shows how parts of the city, though only a few blocks apart, can be completely unfazed by major events.  I don’t think that’s anything really exceptional, but it’s interesting.
